There were thirty one entries on the night with a very wide variety of subjects and styles being displayed in the photographs. After one of the closest votes in a while Monica O’Brien took the overall award having won on a tie break.

Fermoy Camera Club members were also competing on a National level recently with huge success. The Irish Photographic Federation, which is the governing body of Irish Camera Clubs, held their Print and Projected Image and Nature Competition finals in Kilkenny.

To qualify for the National Finals photographers first had to compete and qualify from their Regional Associations. As previously reported a lot of FCC members had qualified for the two national finals/

On the weekend the Print and Projected final was held on the Saturday. Fermoy members scored very highly in this competition with Bill Power taking two medals on the day. Sunday saw the judging of the Nature finals. The number of FCC members who entered this competition at the Regional level was quite small as this tends to be a more specialised area. Again Fermoy Camera Club members scored extremely highly with Bill Power winning another two medals and Suzanne Merrigan taking one medal and an Honourable Mention for two of her images.
